Article Spotlight: Finding Magic and Mindfulness in the Everyday

Hi there!

I’m grateful to be a part of HER+ Health Collective, a community of moms & small business owners in the Raleigh area with the mission to “redefine and change the way moms take care of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.” I’m involved with HER+ as a mom in HER+ Circle and also as an Expert in their vetted experts directory, full of local providers who serve moms and families. (Please check it out if you’re looking for a service provider of some kind… I’ve been able to meet many of the business owners in this directory, and they’re all wonderful!)

This year I’m also one of their 2026 Content Contributors, meaning I get to share four articles to their site throughout the year!

Here’s a peek at my first one:

Cardboard Creations & Morning Light: Finding Magic and Mindfulness in the Everyday

I’ve been trying to practice ‘the art of noticing‘ – pausing for just a moment, taking a breath, and finding beauty, magic, or joy that’s right in front of me. It’s not about adding something to your plate, but just shifting your perspective a bit to find the glimmers that are already there.”

In this article, I note on how we can find beauty in our everyday lives… which isn’t always easy when we’re caught up in the demands of motherhood. I talk about reframing the scene, managing the mess (and calling it beautiful), finding glimmers in the morning rush, and grounding ourselves.

I close out with an invitation to notice…

“Today, I invite you to find one small thing in your home and simply acknowledge it. Maybe it’s a pocket of light, a sweet expression, or even a messy corner of the room. Don’t worry about cleaning it or fixing it quite yet… just notice it and let yourself pause with that for a moment. If you want to take it a step further, write it down tonight and try to do the same tomorrow.

May we all practice the art of noticing and invite more joy & peace to our lives through seeing the magic of our everyday spaces & rhythms.
